Fuori dai manifesti
A screen printing workshop in central Pesaro built around Massimo Dolcini's posters, during Pesaro's year as Italian Capital of Culture.
The context
Massimo Dolcini, from Pesaro, was one of the world's most influential graphic designers between the 1960s and the 1990s, known for his "public utility" graphics. In 2024 Pesaro was the Italian Capital of Culture.
The project
In August 2024 I led the workshop "Fuori dai manifesti" (Free Form Canvas) in the city centre. A selection of his most iconic posters returned, thirty years later, to symbolic places in Pesaro and became the heart of the screen printing workshops.
The result
Many residents took part and printed with their own hands, in a shared experience that strengthened the sense of community.
